How to Fix "Access Denied" Error in phpMyAdmin Print

  • MySQL, Database, phpMyAdmin
  • 0

Issue:

When attempting to access phpMyAdmin from your cPanel, you encounter the following error message:

mysqli_sql_exception: Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Cause:

This error occurs when your cPanel login password and your internal database password have become out of sync. This often happens after an account restoration, migration, or if the password was changed externally.

Solution:

You can resolve this immediately by refreshing your account password. You do not need to choose a new password; simply re-saving your current password will force the database to re-sync.
